TULLE OR BEADING?

While watching the reality show, "Say Yes to the Dress," this morning, I began to wonder when I'd become so shallow.  I pictured this huge swimming pool with all the water drained out of the deep end and there I stood, ready to dive into about four inches of water.  I never used to care about which looked best, tulle or beading.  This past week while seated in the breakroom at work, my ears perked up when the nurses started to discuss "Hoarders" yet another reality show.  Yes!  I saw the one where the man had 2000 pet rats!  This scares me, not the rats, but that I had watched it.  When younger, I was very concerned about the poor, the polluted, the wars, and so on.  I worried myself sick over it all.  Perhaps if I'd felt I'd been able to do something about it, I would have done less worrying and more doing.  But I was too busy having breakdowns.

I could watch more news again, but I'd still just be watching and worrying, not doing.  (Oh, I'll do things to help on a local scale when I retire I say.)  These days I am trying to be content in the knowledge that there are much younger and/or braver people taking care of things while I'm home on the weekend deciding on which looks best, tulle or beading.  Dive in, the water is fine!  Ouch!
